Fifth Grade Grading Policy
Grade Weights:
This year in fifth grade we will not be weighting assignments by categories as we have in the past.
All Work=100%
(Teachers may count tests/projects more than once at their discretion. When this occurs, parents/students will be notified on the planner sheet.)

Assignment Expectations:
Assignments are to be completed when assigned by the teacher. If an assignment must be taken home to finish, or homework is given, the assignment will be due at the time the teacher has designated. If assignments are not returned on the expected dates, students will receive a signing on their blue planner sheet. The student will also receive a point deduction on the assignment. The highest grade attainable for late assignments will go as follows.
One Class Period Late=85 (minus 15 point)
Two Class Periods Late=70 (minus 30 points)
Three or more class periods late=50 (minus 50 points)
A "M" will be placed in the gradebook when an assignment is late. The "M" will stay in the gradebook until the assignment is turned in. A "M" will average in as a zero.
Late Work:
We understand that periodically students will become sick, have doctor's appointments, or need to miss class for one reason or another. If a student misses class, all assignments that were assigned previously, will be due the day the student returns. If a student is absent when a new assignment is assigned, then the student will need to see the teacher the day they return to school to collect the assignments and get the due date. Students have one day for each day they are absent plus one to complete the new assignments.
Cheating Policy
As per the ACA Student Code of Conduct, if students are found cheating, the teacher may assign a zero for the assignment in question. (p. 9 Class II Disciplinary Consequences)
